Tunisia has implemented an energy certification program for household electrical equipments, which has primarily targeted household cooling appliances, air conditioners and lighting equipment.
The objective of this program is to introduce the energy labeling requirement of equipment sold in the market in order to inform householdsabout their energy performance when they buy an equipement.

The energy performance system for household equipments is composed of eight energy classes : the energy class of level 8 corresponds to the energy-consuming equipment, while the energy class of level 1 corresponds to the energy-saving equipment.
In the second stage, after the establisment of the energy labeling requirement, this program aims at the progressive elimination from the market of the energy-using equipment.
