A signing ceremony of a partnership and cooperation agreement between the National Agency for Energy Control and the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas took place today, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at the headquarters of ANME in Tunis.

This agreement was signed by Mr. Fethi Hanchi, General Director of ANME, and Mr. Faycel Trifa, CEO of STEG, in the presence of several executives from both institutions.

This agreement represents an extension of the cooperation between the two institutions that has been ongoing for years. Its aim is to support national awareness campaigns on energy efficiency and promote the adoption of renewable energies. This will be achieved by establishing energy management information points within the premises of  the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas, overseen by energy advisors who will be deployed across various customer service agencies and offices of the company. This deployment will follow a logistical and communication plan developed, supervised, and enhanced through coordination between the two institutions.

In his speech on this occasion, Mr. Fethi Hanchi emphasized the importance of cooperation between the National Agency for Energy Control and the Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas, stating that this agreement represents a continuation of collaborative efforts between the two institutions. He specified that this agreement will contribute to rationalizing energy consumption by supporting awareness campaigns on energy management and facilitating the establishment of energy management information points. This will help accelerate the implementation of national projects and specific energy management programs, especially for the residential sector and for the benefit of all citizens.

On his part, Mr. Faycel Trifa indicated that the signing of the agreement represents a new stage in cooperation between the two institutions, under the title "Joint Collaboration and Coordination for effective institutional performance and a Safe Season."
