As part of its mission to implement the state's energy control policy, the National Agency for Energy Conservation carried out on 2012 a strategic study on the rational use of energy in Tunisia by 2030, with the objective of anticipating the energy challenges that will arise over the coming years and decades, by setting up an ambitious and coherent energy efficiency policy, and by identifying all the major levers of action on which action should be taken to improve the operational side of this policy. The study focuses on three main components : - An assessment of past energy efficiency programs: A diagnosis of the impact of energy efficiency promotion activities, such as audits and program contracts, energy certification of household equipments and the promotion of cogeneration for energy consumption. - An assessment of the ressources and the potential for energy savings that could be mobilized over the period 2013-2030 - The development of the action plan on the rational use of energy over the period 2013 - 2030.
